Why a New Slate:A few of the reasons.
Senseless Census
True story:
I live on the side of a mountain. A car parked on our private gravel access road by our house for a couple of minutes and then near my closest neighbor's house. There was a sign in the car window I couldn't read, but I immediately thought of the GPS 'census' gang.
A few days later another such car showed up. This time I happened to be outside and got to that car before it left...same sign...sure enough another GPS "Census" guy.
(UPDATE: There has now been a total of 8 Obama census people that have come to my residence to 'check/confirm' their data.)
I asked if he had seen the NO TRESSPASS sign down on the same private road along the edge of my property and he said some guy at the bottom of the hill road, said it was OK to come up (yeah, right). I ordered this censorist to stop his GPS locating and he did. I'm probably on some special list now.
I also had a friendly conversation with the perp. He agreed with all my objections re this activity, apologized and said the reason he was doing it was that he needed the work.
He was being paid $13/hour plus 55 cents a mile.
Also, all census data required verification which explained the two cars.
So, that's $26 $104/hour and $1.10 $4.40/mile it was costing us.
I asked why they couldn't simply sit in front of a PC and use Google maps or Google Earth to get the same data. He said the purpose was to 'eyeball' every dwelling...no name or address required. (Good enough for a cruise missle or mortar, I suppose...I wish I were kidding).
A few weeks later yet another 'Census Taker' drove right up to my back door to ask about a storage shed (looks like a cabin) because of a confusing description on the report form.
Now we're up to $39 $104.00/hour and $1.65 $4.40/mile...(they all lived in different counties than mine)...for what?
What hope do we have when an out-of-control Executive can order such acts and an out-of-work citizen is willing to trespass knowing it's wrong? (Obama now rules the census taking...doing it ahead of the lawful 2010 schedule???)
I'm writing my Congressmen, for whatever good that will do...maybe some, but unlikely.
Where the hell is all that oversight we keep hearing about?

This is so priceless, I had to post it here (Thanks to Rich Payne for the content):
New Federal Golf Rules
President B.H.O. has recently appointed a Golf Czar. Major rule changes in the game of golf will become effective January, 20 2013. This is only a preview as the complete rule book (expect 2716 pages) is being rewritten as we speak.
Here are a few of the changes:
Golfers with handicaps:
- Below 10 will have their green fees increased by 35%.
- Between 11 and 18 will see no increase in green fees.
- Above 18 will get a $20 check each time they play.
The term "gimmie" will be changed to "entitlement" and will be used as follows:
- Handicaps below 10, no entitlements.
- Handicaps from 11 to 17, entitlements for putter length putts.
- Handicaps above 18, if your ball is on the green, no need to putt, just pick it up.
These entitlements are intended to bring about fairness and, most importantly, equality in scoring.
In addition, a Player will be limited to a maximum of one birdie or six pars in any given 18-hole round.
Any excess must be given to those fellow players who have not yet scored a birdie or par.
Only after all players have received a birdie or par from the player actually making the birdie or par, can that player begin to count his pars and birdies again.
The current USGA handicap system will be used for the above purposes, but the term "net score" will be available only for scoring those players with handicaps of 18 and above.
This is intended to "re-distribute" the success of winning by making sure that in all competitions every Player above an 18 handicap will post only "net score" against every other player's "gross score".
These new Rules are intended to CHANGE the game of golf! Yippee!!!!!
Remember, golf must be about Fairness. It should have nothing to do with ability, hard work, practice, and responsibility. This is “the right thing to do."
So, please remember: if you shot a round of golf under par, you didn't shoot it yourself. Someone else built that course, and someone else cut the grass so that you could play on it. Someone else built the clubs, the cart, the ball,… and we all know Who set the wind direction.
